Almagest
Game Rules |
|
1. Number of Accounts |
|
Under no circumstances is any player allowed to own or use more than one account. |
One person having multiple accounts is a form of cheating, regardless of whether
those accounts interact with each other or not.
You may not share your account with others or let anyone play on your account for
you for any reason. You may also not use another player’s account for any reason.
Do not share your account information with anyone. Almagest staff will never ask
you for any of your information.
|
 |
Any violation will be treated as a multi and all offending accounts will be jailed.
Accounts determined to be the “main” account may serve their jail sentences, while
accounts determined to be the “multi” accounts will be permanently deleted.
Repeated
offenses may earn an extended or permanent ban from the game. |
|
|
2. Shared IP Addresses |
No player is permitted to trade, exchange, battle or interact in any way with another
player sharing the same public IP address.
If you have friends or family who use
a shared computer, a network with NAT, and/or a shared IP address, do not interact
with them in the game. |
 |
Minor violations will be treated as cases of multiple accounts.
See above for penalties.
More severe violations determined to be cases of other
illegal activity will be dealt with on a per-case basis and may include extended
jail terms or account removal.
No exceptions to this rule will be made. |
 |
|
Communication
between players on the same IP address may also be monitored for signs of suspicious
activity (eg keyword flagging), though communication itself is not a jailable offense. |
 |
|
3. Communication |
Excessive cursing or flaming (insulting for the sake of insulting)
will not be tolerated in any in-game communication (Galactic Forum, Private Messages,
or any future communication method).
"Spam" messages sent through any in-game communication
method are also strictly prohibited. |
 |
|
You may not beg for game funds, premier points,
or any other in-game “money” via personal messages or on the Galactic Forum. |
 |
|
Prejudiced
comments are not welcome in Almagest. Prejudice includes, but is not limited to:
racist, sexist, or otherwise biased speech against any particular group based on
sex, race, religion, or creed. If you have opinions that could be regarded by staff
to be prejudices, please keep them to yourself while interacting with others in
the game. In addition, UserNames and DisplayNames with prejudiced remarks will not
be tolerated (e.g. naming your character “I hate white people”). |
 |
Galactic Forum
signatures may not be more than ten lines or five hundred characters (whichever
is shorter). The number of lines in your signature is determined by how it appears
to staff. Please keep in mind that signatures may appear differently on monitors
of different resolutions. Images that breach these size restrictions are considered
a violation of this rule, as well.
Additionally, please do not make any line of
your signature long enough to stretch the screen of other players (for example,
using a 200-letter word or large image). Pornographic material of any kind (including
images, graphic speech, etc) is not allowed in Almagest. Links to any such material
are also prohibited. If there is any question in your mind about the acceptability
of a comment, picture, or link, just don’t post it. |
 |
|
Keep in mind that Dodecatec,
LLC is not responsible for anything posted in any in-game communication. Libelous
comments in regards to Dodecatec, LLC may be prosecuted under United States and/or
international Law. |
 |
Violations are punishable with a message board ban and/or jail time, to be determined
per case.
Violations involving prejudice and/or pornography
will be punished by jail time or account removal to be determined by staff based
on severity of the offense. |
 |
|
4. Scams: |
|
In no way is one player allowed to scam or intentionally mislead or “trick”
another character into taking an action in the game. If you say you will do something
(such as exchange items with another player), you must be prepared to do it. |
 |
Misleading
other players also includes impersonating another player.
Impersonation includes
changing your display name to match another user’s display name, claiming you are
another user, or anything else that could lead another user to believe you are a
user other than yourself.
Impersonation of staff is an immediately jailable offense
and could lead to more severe penalties. |
 |
|
NOTE: If you transfer something to another
entity in the game without proper communications to corroborate your claim of scamming,
there is nothing we can do to help you and the action will not be considered a scam,
though we may monitor both your account and your alleged scammer’s account for future
suspicious activity. |
 |
The above offenses are punishable by Jail time to be decided
by staff based on the severity of the offense.
Punishment for impersonation of another
player generally includes changing the offending user’s display name.
Impersonation
of staff may be punished by immediate account lockout or removal, if staff deems
such action appropriate. |
 |
|
5. Selling Property/Affiliate Links |
In-game Property may not be sold for real life
money or funds in another game. This includes selling money, premier points, accounts,
battle equipment, or anything else that is transferable in Almagest.
Additionally,
you may not pay for items transferred in another game with items or funds acquired
in Almagest.
Players may not make posts that offer to pay other players for clicking
a link to any other site, or going to another site and performing some action.
Players
may still advertise other games or websites on the Galactic Forum, offers of compensation
for clicks are prohibited. |
 |
|
Violations are punishable by jail time or account lockout/removal, decided per case.
|
 |
|
6. Glitches/Bugs: |
From time to time, glitches or bugs in the behavior of the game
may be spotted by users.
Exploiting these bugs is a punishable offense.
Any user
determined to be exploiting a bug for personal gain or to the detriment of other
players will be held accountable for his/her actions. |
 |
If you know of a bug, please
report it to staff.
Also, if you know of someone who is exploiting a bug, please
alert the staff.
We offer rewards for tips that lead to the discovery of a cheater
or the discovery of bugs.
These rewards can include game cash, premier points, stat
boosts, or anything else the staff deems appropriate.
Help is always appreciated
in Almagest. |
 |
Violations of this rule are punishable and punishment is determined per case.
Punishments may include but are not limited to account lockout/removal,
temporary bans, confiscation of Character assets/stats, message board bans, etc.
|
 |
|
7. Macros: |
A macro is a program or script that plays part or all of the game for
you.
Almagest, like any other role-playing game, is designed in such a way that
players who spend more time playing are rewarded for their efforts. Therefore, having
your computer play for you is considered cheating and is not taken lightly. |
 |
From
time to time, you will see a “Macro Protection” page.
This page has a simple two-character
code that you must enter to continue playing. This is to prevent macros from playing
the game, since most macros cannot answer these questions.
Too many incorrect responses
to the macro protection page will cause your account to be jailed by the system
for 20 minutes. |
 |
|
Repeated violations of this rule are punishable by extended jail
time, temporary account lockout, or account removal, to be determined per case. |
 |
|
If you think you can get away with it, think again… |
 |
|
8. Staff: |
| Any problems you have should be reported to the correct staff: |
 |
| Problems
with Premier Points should be reported immediately to staff or we may not be able
to help you. |
 |
| Any information about cheating (i.e. multis, scams, etc.) should be
reported to staff. |
 |
|
Any problems with a member of Staff should be posted on the Staff
Contact Forum. |
 |
|
Any problems regarding a particular Message Board Ban or Jailing
is to be resolved with the staff member that issued it. Other Staff will direct
you to the punishing Staff member if you try to involve them.
|
 |
|
If you feel you have
been mistreated by a specific Staff member, see the above paragraph. |
 |
The Staff retains
the right to make changes to this list without notice.
Violation of any rule is
punishable by the listed punishments or whatever punishment the staff sees fit. |
